Understanding the AiDOPTION Levels

The AiDOPTION Scorecard measures AI adoption across five progressive levels. Each one represents a distinct stage of what your organisation is actually doing with AI — and what the next stage looks like.

0–24

AI Curious

Score 0 – 24 / 100

Interest in AI exists but action hasn't followed. Leadership may acknowledge AI matters, but there's no formal strategy, no governance, and AI isn't yet a working part of operations. The priority: build foundational understanding and secure executive sponsorship to move beyond curiosity.

25–49

AI Testing

Score 25 – 49 / 100

Early AI initiatives are underway but small, siloed, and often unmeasured. Pockets of experimentation show promise, but without shared structure, governance, or clear success criteria. The priority: define use cases with real business value, set measurement standards, and bring teams into alignment before scaling.

50–69

AI Adopting

Score 50 – 69 / 100

AI is becoming a regular part of how work gets done. Written strategy, defined ownership, and growing consistency across teams signal the organisation is serious about AI. Focus now shifts to measurement, governance discipline, and turning pilots into dependable business capability that sticks.

70–84

AI Scaling

Score 70 – 84 / 100

AI is embedded in day-to-day operations across multiple functions, with governance, measurement, and continuous-improvement cycles in place. Leadership is engaged, ROI is tracked, and adoption is expanding deliberately. The focus shifts to optimising what works and building capability for the next wave of AI opportunity.

85–100

AI Mastering

Score 85 – 100 / 100

AI is a strategic differentiator. The organisation continuously innovates, rigorously measures ROI, and sets industry best practice for AI adoption. Improvement is systemic and self-sustaining. The challenge is maintaining leadership — and exporting AI capability across every corner of the organisation.
